This summer, KFC is set to unveil a series of captivating adventures and special offers, with the star attraction being the immersive KFC Bucketverse VR Experience pop-up.
This exclusive event is scheduled to grace the halls of Hysan Place shopping center, nestled in the vibrant heart of Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, from August 17 to 20. Operating daily between midday and 9 pm, participants will be treated to a unique experience within an enormous, larger-than-life KFC bucket, where they can dive into the world of virtual reality (VR) gaming.
The primary objective of this gaming escapade is to chase down virtual flying chickens in a digital KFC universe. As gamers score higher, they stand to win enticing rewards, including a $60 (£47) KFC cash voucher.
In the spirit of fostering engagement, visitors can also enhance their chances of winning by snapping photos against a KFC-themed 3D backdrop and sharing these moments on their social media profiles.
Janet Lau, the marketing director for KFC Hong Kong, expressed, “Our aim is to invite the people of Hong Kong into an alternate dimension, offering them a brief respite from the hustle and bustle of city life, and immersing them in a world of creativity and amusement. We believe that everyone deserves a Krispy Break, and through this campaign, we want to demonstrate that KFC is here to deliver exactly that.”
Amy Cheng, Creative Director at Edelman, remarked, “The game has been meticulously designed to infuse joy and a touch of addictiveness, much like KFC’s delectable fried chicken. It’s truly inspiring when a brand actively seeks fresh, unconventional ideas beyond traditional advertising, and the Bucketverse epitomizes this spirit.”
She further added, “Our partnership with KFC continually welcomes innovative concepts, and we hope that this new manifestation of Finger Lickin’ Goodness amplifies their brand promise to resonate with more fried chicken enthusiasts across the city.”
While presently, this unique pop-up experience is limited to Hong Kong, who’s to say when a similar VR-driven adventure might find its way to KFC restaurants in the UK, perhaps even gracing the streets of London. The world of fried chicken aficionados may soon expand beyond imagination.
