Meta have partnered with LG to produce the next Quest Pro

Published

It has been reported that Meta has partnered with LG in order to produce an improved successor to their Quest Pro headset. The future of the Meta Quest Pro remains uncertain, despite initial reports of its cancellation, which turned out to be premature. However, it faces tough competition from the highly anticipated Apple Vision Pro.

LG: A Trusted Name in Tech

LG is no stranger to innovation and technological advancements. As a leading global electronics company, LG has a strong track record in developing cutting-edge displays, consumer electronics and more. Their expertise in display technology is particularly relevant to the world of virtual reality, where the quality of the display can significantly impact the user’s experience.

Mass production will be handled by LG Electronics, with parts being supplied by LG Display, LG Innotek, and LG Energy Solution.

Release date and price

The next iteration of the Meta Quest Pro is expected to release sometime in 2025 so we still have a while to wait. Despite the initial Quest Pro making headlines because of its steep price tag, Meta apparently intends to make this one even more expensive, with a price tag of $2000.

Despite seeming like a lot for a Virtual Reality headset, this is still well under the price tag of Apple’s Vision Pro, which is scheduled to release at an eye-watering price of $3500.

Quest is here to stay

For people who don’t want to wait that long or don’t want to play such a price are looking forward to the release of Meta’s more affordable headset, the Meta Quest 3. More details about the Quest 3 will be announced at Meta’s connect conference on 27th September.
