Sandbox VR, a business specialising in providing visitors with futuristic VR experiences, has now partnered with Netflix to produce an official Squid Game VR experience. Based on the most streamed Netflix show of all time. the experience will take players to locations featured within the series and have them become contestants.
The experience, titled Squid Game Virtuals, will launch on 29th September. Players can expect to enter scenarios found in the series such as ‘Red Light, Green Light’ and ‘Cross the Glass Bridge’.
Sandbox VR have many physical locations in America but they have now opened locations in places such as Shanghai, Toronto and London.
Aside from their own VR experiences that are created by their in-house gaming studio, the company also feature an experience from another pretty large IP: Star Treck, It’s clear that Sandbox VR already have experience working with a big name in entertainment so they aren’t out of their depth with this new addition.
The most interesting and exciting aspects of what Sandbox VR do is their location-based technology. Essentially, this means that each player can see their friends and their props such as guns within the simulation.
