Meta launch $7.99 a month subscription service

Published

Meta have launched a $7.99 subscription service that will provide users with two full VR games per month. The VR giant are calling this service Meta Quest+ and is the first of its kind from within the VR space. They are offering the first month for just $1 to incentivise and promote this service.

This service looks only to be launching in America right now, perhaps as an initial test before it is rolled out to the rest of the world. The service seems to be quite similar to Microsoft’s Games with Gold programme that they launched on Xbox way back in July 2013. However, unlike Games with Gold, users will get to keep the games that they receive through Meta Quest+ even after they cancel their subscription.

The first two titles available to redeem in July will be an action-rhythm first-person shooter called Pistol Whip from Cloudhead Games and an arcade-style adventure titled Pixel Ripped 1995 from ARVORE Immersive Experiences.

In August, subscribers can look forward to a social VR experience in Mighty Coconut’s Walkabout Mini Golf as well as some shooter action in MOTHERGUNSHIP: FORGE from Terrible Posture Games.
