Pico poised to unveil new headset Sept. 22

Pico XR have recently shared an image on LinkedIn teasing a new product announcement which will take place on September 22nd 2022 at 14:00GMT. The announcement is slated to take place on TikTok Live and YouTube. The image features what appears to be the silhouette of an unreleased headset which some speculate to be the successor to the Pico Neo3. It will be interesting to see whether or not the device will be branded as the Neo 4 , as some have theorised that it may go by a different name.

It seems at though ByteDance, Pico XR’s parent company, are gearing up to become one of Meta’s key competitors in the consumer virtual reality space. They are beginning to look like they could finally begin to loosen up Meta’s chokehold on the industry which they have had ever since they acquired Oculus in 2014.

There’s no denying that Pico has firmly positioned itself as one of the industry leading headset manufacturers following the release of the well received G2 4K and Neo3 devices. It now looks like they will be solidifying their position with the release of this upcoming device. The device is rumoured to include all-new features such as pancake lenses, a higher resolution display than ever before and completely redesigned controllers.

We can’t wait to get our hands on it.
